Office Space
No – not the movie!
We are proud to announce we will be leasing office space in Westlake Hills!
We will be able to take meetings and show our portfolio to clients in a great, comfortable location at 4238 Bee Caves Road.
We’re sharing space with several other great vendors, so if you’re looking for a caterer (Royal Fig), a cake (Stardust Pastry), or wedding coordinator (Royal Fig again!) – stop by and you can get it all taken care of in one place!
We will post pictures once we’ve completely moved in in a few weeks and there will be a grand opening party for other wedding professionals and clients in the near future.
Stay tuned!
We’re Officially Official!
We’ve finalized paper work on two of the most important aspects for a company. Filed all documents necessary with the Secretary of State’s office for the State of Texas to become a fully formed and recognized company. Picked up our certification of formation of a company yesterday! Fortunately the name Rojo Pictures wasn’t taken yet!
We’ve also acquired general liability insurance. Necessary at some venues for any wedding vendor, and something any professional should have.
Great Wedding Professionals
Well we haven’t posted in awhile, so we wanted to update everyone on what we’ve been up to (We plan to start blogging on a regular basis…) We’ve been doing a lot of networking with other wedding professionals and venues. Despite being a competitive industry, everyone we’ve met has been extremely friendly and open. We wanted to mention a few we’ve had a chance to talk to.
Amy Mader of Platinum Weddings was great to talk to. She gave us more information than we ever expected and we have since joined the NEAWP (Nuptial Essentials Association of Wedding Professionals), a great organization that Amy started!
Shauna Jankowiak of Perfectly Planned Weddings & Events is a top notch wedding coordinator. We had a great meeting that at one point digressed into a conversation on Henry VIII – lots of fun! We are proud to be listed as a partner on her site.
McMurtrie Farms in Pflugerville is an organic farm that has transitioned to a beautiful venue for weddings and events. This 5 acre oasis is along Gilleland Creek with a beautiful green field and is complete with multiple locations for ceremonies to accommodate a wedding of any size. As photographers – we can see its a beautiful place for photography.
Dan and Kristen Stacy of Royal Fig Catering are a husband and wife team who pride themselves on using fresh, seasonal ingredients from organic farms throughout central Texas. Dan, the Executive Chef, has over 10 years fine dining experience from New York to Houston, and now Austin. Kristen is an experience event planner dedicated to taking care of her clients. They are a great duo for any wedding. We will be sharing office space with them, and several other wedding professionals soon.
Premiere Party Central is a locally owned, family operated business specializing in tenting, staging, lighting and event decor such as tables, chairs, linens, and food service. They were previously known as Austin Party Central, however in the summer of 2009, Austin Party Central purchased Premiere Tents and Events – leading to the name change: Premiere Party Central! With the combination of these two great Austin based companies, a bride can find anything she would need to design a beautiful wedding. They have North Austin and South Austin locations.
Independence Day
This wedding was shot solely by me – Thomas. Booked before the formation of Rojo Pictures, but we wanted to keep everyone up to date on what we’ve been working on…
No better day for a marine to get married than the 4th of July!
Andrew and Morgan were married at Villa St. Clair in their beautiful, large and well lit main hall with the reception outside in a lovely courtyard at sun set.
Morgan’s father is deceased, but he was truly there in spirit. A photo, candle and white rose occupied the the father-of-the-bride’s chair alongside Morgan’s mother during the ceremony – watching over his daughter’s special day.
A Hero’s Homecoming – The Wedding
Built in 1890, The Salado United Methodist Church in Salado, TX is a protected Texas Historical Landmark and the perfect setting for a Texas summer wedding!
On tour in Iraq, Captain Frank Toomey made it back to Texas with just a few weeks before his wedding. So there was a lot of last minute planning – nevertheless – everything went smoothly for Frank and Laura.
These are just a few moments from the wedding of the soldier and his bride.
A Hero’s Homecoming
US Army Captain Frank Toomey has barely seen his fiance, Laura Johansen, the past two years because he has served 2 tours of duty in Iraq as part of the 1st Cavalry Division based in Fort Hood, Killeen.
With just 3 weeks to spare before his wedding day, Frank made it back!
Every military unit returning from duty abroad has a homecoming ceremony for the soldiers and their families to thank them for the service. These are just a few photos from the ceremony when Frank and Laura were finally reunited.
Their wedding is June 20th in Salado and I will share those photos soon…!
Thomas.
Doni and Ray
I first met Doni and Ray over a year ago at another wedding I shot – and we had so much fun together I was excited when they said asked me to photograph their wedding as well. In fact, if you go to our “Fun” category you’ll see them in a hilarious photo as part of the group pointing to a friend of theirs in sunglasses – stealing all the attention!
Everyone at the wedding could easily see the love Doni and Ray have for each other. They dated for 10 years before getting married but it was still an emotional day for the bride. In addition to being her wedding day, Doni’s father recently beat stage 4 lymphoma cancer — so having him walk her down the aisle was a special blessing for Doni.
Despite rain earlier in the day, the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden had the tents ready and made sure everyone stayed dry and had a great time.
I booked Doni and Ray’s in 2008, before the formation of Rojo Pictures, but I wanted to share their story and a few photos…
Thomas.
